June 2018. The Focus Groups Report: Learning outcomes on prevention of hazards, includes the conclusions drawn from the five discussion groups with Health and Safety experts from the different countries of the Partnership, carried out between April and June 2018.

 

The objective of these meetings was to obtain first-hand information on hazards in works at height in the construction industry. Beside, to know the main preventive measures that should be implemented to avoid that these hazards become an accident or to minimize its gravity.

 

 

 

This report is one of the main sources of information in the elaboration of the Handy Guide for the development of the App. This manual, produced by the Partnership, includes the characteristics that have be taken into account in the design of the mini-games and in the planning of the digital scenarios in order to improve the realism and practicality of the digital tool, that allows to achieve durable changes in workers’ behaviour from prevention’s point of view. 

 

 

 

Ceap tackles the obstacles to proper safety on the job site

 

Italian Focus group: June 8th, 2018, Vincenza (Italy)

June 13th, 2018. Last week, Italian partner Ceap Ceap organized a focus group with experts in Health and Safety and new technologies, as well as sector workers, computer scientists and sociologists, with the aim of unraveling the main risk factors and problems associated with working at heights.

Among the results extracted, the group highlighted professional motivation as one of the main factors that influence the improvement of behavior, for it must analyze possible personal, social and organizational obstacles that affect workers.

Based on this, it was proposed to focus training in the sector in relation to three personal levels or processes:

  • Cognitive level: Carrying out tasks of information, training, and to demonstrate through data, statistics, standards.
  • Emotional level: Exploring pre-existing emotions, training through emotional messages and sensitizers.
  • Behavioral level: Establishing habits, and maintain an action-reaction of the behaviors in the works.
