Partners: Warrington AC (United Kingdom), Open University of Nederlands (The Nederlands), Sataedu Satakunta Educational Federation (Finland), Handwerk-Nrw. (Germany), Centro Edile Andrea Palladio (Italy), FRG Timisoara (Romania).

The project aims to develop, test and implement an online training tool regarding Health and Safety basic matters from a building site that will be deployed using mini-games scenarios in order to facilitate users’ mobile learning via APP.

By gathering knowledge along the seven European countries of this Strategic Partnership, it is expected to cover all countries’ needs with a common tool and approach and with a shared accreditation, in order to:

  • Increase transparency and mutual trust between VET systems by cross-border forms of cooperation.
  • Provide a training system based on Health & Safety Europe-wide, making working mobility between countries feasible.
  • Ensure an easy access to VET by offering Open Educational Resources.
  • Promote stronger coherence between the worlds of work and training to achieve a better perform regarding youth unemployment, integration of migrants in labour markets and non-skilled workers, by addressing labour market mismatches (according to the “Strategy for the sustainable competitiveness of the construction sector and its enterprises”).
  • Improve processes of recognition and validation of skills by common accreditations and coherent implementation at national level of ECVET.
  • Strengthen synergies between VET institutions and key stakeholders to ensure a close alignment of VET provision to economic development strategies at regional and local levels.
  • Fight against the high level of risks and accidents related to safety and health at work in the construction industry.
  • Educate the construction workers about the importance of European strategies with the emergence of new occupations associated with the Renewable Energy Systems and Energy Efficiency in construction.
  • Encourage safe attitudes and behave at work, boosting the participation and involvement of workers in the preventive management of companies.

The main objectives of the project are:

  • To develop a tool and procedures to keep safety the workers in the “new construction”. The health and safety are main matters in construction sector, and to deploy it, the use of mini-games would let an easier access to the knowledge to the construction workers.
  • To harmonize different approaches and methods to make it suitable for a cross border use. Then it will be spread out to other European countries where the same skills are relevant for a larger group of workers, and VET systems.
  • Facilitate easy access to VET quality education by offering Open Education Resources.
  • To extend the possibilities of making a joint labour market keeping up health and safety common criteria.
  • Promote stronger coherence between the worlds of work and training to achieve a better perform regarding youth unemployment, integration of migrants in labour markets and non-skilled workers, by addressing labour market mismatches (according to the “Strategy for the sustainable competitiveness of the construction sector and its enterprises”).
